Alikarnassos municipality is located on the north developmental axis of Heraklion''s Building Complex which is characterized by an intense habitation development. It is found at the east gate of the town of Heraklion but it is also the gate to the cosmopolitan airport Nikos Kazatzakis. Thus, due to its important location Nea Alikarnassos has become a pole of attraction for tourism and financial development.
